The ELO loves to give back to the community and in partnership with the Juliette Health Organization (JHO) and the Honey Pot ( an organic feminine care line based in Atlanta), the ELO will be involved with supplying women that are homeless with feminine products such as pads, tampons, DIVA cups and Feminine Wipes. As some of you may know, for homeless women, it really is that dreaded time of the month.
With limited or no access to sanitary products, they're often forced to go without, and some may even have... to reuse the sanitary products that they do have. While donating clothes and money is very helpful, feminine products are in high demand and much needed. Please join us in our quarterly effort to provide feminine product to homeless women in Sacramento.
Our first quarter starts in December and our goal is to get 1000 pad and tampons by the end of this year. If you are located in Sacramento, you can drop your donation off at the North Sacramento Family Resource Center, Oak Park Brewing Company, and Finnegan Public House! Or you can purchase them at Amazon by clicking the donate button and they will be sent to Chioko Grevious at the JHO. Thank you for all your support.
The ELO prides itself on also working in the community. The ELO has provided outreach services and STI/HIV workshops for local non-profit and community-based organizations such as Black Child Development Institute (BCDI), Alpha Phi Alpha Academy, Centers for Fathers and Family, HealthCorps, Mentoring in Medicine & Science Program (MIMS), Alameda County Health Pipeline Partnership (ACHPP), Sacramento Children's Home, People Reaching Out, University of California Davis, Summer Scrub Program, Minority Health Mentor Program, Academy of Dreams and Captivating Ladies Acquiring Successful Standard Yearly (CLASSY).
